Product & Compatibility Questions

What size pegboard do your hangers fit?

All Tool Hangerz pegboard tool holders fit standard ¼” pegboard with 1″ center-to-center hole spacing — the most common pegboard sold at Home Depot, Lowe’s, Menards, and most hardware stores. They also fit standard slatwall. If you’re not sure what you have, measure the hole diameter and spacing before ordering.

Do your hangers work on slatwall?

Yes — all of our hangers are compatible with both standard ¼” pegboard and slatwall systems. The two-peg design seats securely in either system.

Will your hangers fit my drill?

Both the Vertical Cordless Drill Hanger and the Cradle Drill Hanger fit virtually all major brand pistol-grip cordless drills — DeWalt, Milwaukee, Makita, Ryobi, Ridgid, Bosch, Craftsman, and more. If you have an unusual drill shape or a right-angle drill, email us at support@toolhangerz.com with your model number and we’ll confirm before you order.

What is the difference between the Vertical Drill Hanger and the Cradle Drill Hanger?

The Vertical Drill Hanger holds your drill upright by the handle with the grip pointing down — slim footprint, fast one-handed grab. The Cradle Drill Hanger supports the drill horizontally by the body — better for heavier drills and tools like cut-out saws. Many people use one of each for a drill and impact driver side by side. That’s exactly what the Drill Station Kit is designed for.

Will the circular saw hanger fit my saw?

The Circular Saw Hanger fits most standard sidewinder (inline) circular saws from DeWalt, Milwaukee, Makita, Ryobi, Ridgid, Bosch, and Skil. It is not designed for large rear-handle worm drive saws. If you’re unsure, email us with your saw model and we’ll confirm.

What tools fit the Large Universal Tool Hanger?

The Large Universal Tool Hanger works for reciprocating saws, oscillating multi-tools, heat guns, jigsaws, nailers, and most tools with a handle or body that fits the cradle width. If your tool doesn’t have a dedicated hanger in our lineup, the large universal is usually the answer.

What is the weight capacity of your hangers?

Our hangers are built from heavy-gauge steel and rated to hold full-size power tools with batteries attached — including high-capacity 6Ah and 9Ah battery packs. The limiting factor is almost always the pegboard mount, not the hanger itself. Make sure your pegboard is properly mounted to wall studs or a solid backer board. See our pegboard tool wall guide for mounting instructions.

Do I need any tools to install the hangers?

No tools required. All hangers insert directly into standard ¼” pegboard holes and seat in under 60 seconds. No screws, no drilling, no hardware.

Can I paint my hangers?

Our hangers come with a powder coat finish that holds up well to garage environments. If you want to repaint them, a spray paint rated for metal works fine. Clean the surface first and let it fully cure before hanging tools.

Pegboard Questions

Where can I buy pegboard?

Standard ¼” pegboard is available at Home Depot, Lowe’s, Menards, and most hardware stores in 4×8 sheets. Make sure you buy the standard hardboard or tempered hardboard pegboard with ¼” holes and 1″ spacing — not the smaller ⅛” hole variety.

How do I mount pegboard to my wall?

Pegboard needs to be mounted to wall studs or a solid backer board — not directly to drywall alone. You also need pegboard spacers or a frame behind the board to create a gap that allows hooks to insert properly. We cover the full mounting process step by step in our How to Build a Pegboard Tool Wall guide.

How do I keep pegboard hooks from falling out?

All Tool Hangerz hangers use a two-peg design that locks into two holes simultaneously — they won’t pull out or rotate under load the way single-peg wire hooks do. This is one of the main advantages over generic hardware store hooks.
